Michael Jackson - P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) (DJ Moch's 12" Club Remix)
Apologies for the delay in posting a new remix. Life got busy and I just didn't have much time to work on my blog. But I am back with a brand new 12" dance remix to share with you all. I'm revisiting Michael Jackson's awesome "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing"). Last year I created a 12" extended remix, but I decided to do a brand new club mix, again using the original stems like I did with my original PYT mix. I still find it incredible that this terrific song from MJ's "Thriller" album never got the 12" dance mix treatment back in the day. This new mix of mine is quite a lengthy one, almost 10 minutes long, but I love the song, and didn't really want my mix to end. In any case, enjoy!

The B-52's - Love Shack (DJ Moch's 12" Extended Dance Remix)
My remix of the week is an extended 12" remix of The B-52's "Love Shack". As with my latest mixes, it's a completely reconstructed version, this one based on the original LP version, using only the original stems to build it. Enjoy!

Donna Summer - The Summer2K Bad Girls Sidelong Suite Mega Edit
While I mainly mix under the name of DJ Moch, I have an alternate mixing moniker, that being Summer2K. This name, I use exclusively for edits and mixes that I create of the dearly departed Donna Summer. For this most recent post, I am featuring one of my Donna edits that I created last year. Entitled "The Summer2K Sidelong Suite Mega Edit", it is a massive 28+ minute suite comprising the tracks of the first side of Donna's Bad Girls album, albeit reworked and re-edited by yours truly. The tracks in the suite are: Hot Stuff / Bad Girls / Love Will Always Find You / Walk Away.
Please enjoy this latest offering.

Michael Jackson - Rock With You (DJ Moch's 12" Disco Remix)
Welcome again to my new Remix blog, in which I plan to share my various remixes and re-edits that I have created since taking up the hobby in 2000.
This is my first showcase, a 12" disco remix of Michael Jackson's "Rock With You", from his amazing "Off The Wall" album from 1979. The song itself is a masterpiece, but it always annoyed me that it, as well as pretty much every disco-styled track from the album, never had a 12" extended version released at the time. This particular remix is also one of the first I have made solely from the original multi-track stems. A true disco remix but staying faithful to the original source material.
So, here is my chance to rectify the situation of not having an extended disco mix. Here's my 12" Disco Remix of Michael Jackson's "Rock With You". Enjoy!

An Introduction
Hello there! Welcome to my Blog. I suppose an introduction is in order. My name is Emile, and I am an amateur mixer/editor, living in Canada, and creating under the mixing title of DJ Moch. I have been creating re-edits and remixes since the year 2000. I've been mixing as a hobby, as a creative outlet, because of my love of music. I love working with music, playing with it and taking it into all sorts of different directions, whether that's by re-editing it, remixing it, or as I've recently started doing, creating new 12" versions of songs from the ground up using any original stems as I come across them.
As an amateur mixer, I have so much respect for those who do it well. The grand-daddy of them all, for one, Tom Moulton. His touch has turned so many disco / dance tracks into absolute gold. The fact that he is still creating mixes now into his 70's and still does it so well, is just a remarkable achievement and a testament to his talent. And as for the current generation, individuals like Mike Maurro have taken up the mantle with zeal, creating amazing new remixes that create new and brilliant things, while staying true to the original source material. Those are the kind of mixes I love listening to the most, and the kind that I prefer to create nowadays.
I am by no means a professional, I lack the sophisticated equipment or the training. I do however have a good ear for music, rhythm and timing. My skill improves with every mix/edit I do, and I am very proud of what I have created, especially some of my more recent endeavours.
So, for now, I will be using my remix blog to spotlight the mixes/edits I have created in the last 15 or so years, as well as any new mixes I create in the future. I'm thinking probably doing a weekly post, but really it may be whenever the fancy takes me.
Thanks for stopping by my Blog, and I hope you will enjoy the music. It's always a labour of love putting this stuff together.
Peace.
